What are the TAGGRS Games?

The TAGGRS Games is a free online Server-side Tracking competition for marketers, tracking specialists, and analytics engineers. Participants progress through 3 levels of questions on the online game, qualify for the Grand Final, and compete for prizes and the title of Server-side Tracking Champion 2026. Join the competition!

Who can participate?

Anyone with an interest in tracking can join, including tracking specialists, marketers, or analytics engineers. No prior TAGGRS experience is required.

Can I participate from anywhere?

Yes, the TAGGRS Games are fully online and open worldwide.

Do I need specific technical skills to join?

The TAGGRS Games assumes basic to advanced knowledge of tracking setups, data layers, and Server-side Tracking. Whether you're learning or already expert-level, you're welcome.

Do I need to train before joining?

Is participation really free?

Yes, participation in the TAGGRS Games is 100% free. You just need a forever‑free TAGGRS account in case you want to register your score and unlock rewards.

Do I need a TAGGRS account to play?

You can try the game without an account, but to register your score, enter the daily prize pool, and advance to higher levels, you must create a free TAGGRS account.

Competition format

How does the competition work?

The TAGGRS Games start with an online qualification phase consisting of three levels, where your overall score is determined by both speed and accuracy. The top 20 players from this phase advance to the Grand Final, where they are challenged to repair a broken Server-side Tracking setup. An expert jury then evaluates all 20 final implementations based on five criteria. Visit the Rules page to learn more about each phase and the evaluation process.

How is my qualification score calculated?

Your score is based on the number of correct answers and how fast you complete each level. The faster and more accurate you are, the higher your score.

Can I replay to improve my score?

You can replay Levels 1 and 2 up to three times during the whole competition. You can play Level 3 only two times during the entire competition for your chance to reach the top 20.

EVALUATION

How are finalists evaluated?

Setups are evaluated on five criteria: data coverage, privacy compliance, data quality, structure, and creativity. Every finalist setup is manually reviewed by the expert jury.

Where will the final results be published?

The final results are announced on February 26, 2026 on TAGGRS and Niels Olivier's LinkedIn. Make sure to give them a follow to stay in the loop.

Prizes and rewards

What can I win in the TAGGRS Games?

Daily prizes include audits, free TAGGRS access, and swag. But also: goodie bags, expert feedback, visibility on TAGGRS channels, a trophy, and a signed ice skating suit for the champion. Have a look at the prizes.

How does the daily prize pool work?

Everyone who succeeds at Level 1 enters the daily pool with one access. Everyone who completes Level 2 to earn two accesses. Each day, winners are selected from eligible players to receive prizes like audits, support calls, free plan access, or TAGGRS swag.

How will I know if I’ve won a prize?

Winners of the daily prize pool are notified via email. Top 20, Top 3, and the champion will be also announced on TAGGRS channels.
